Pastoral Care Ministries
Deacon - The deacons are uniquely involved in five ministries: Deacon-on-Call and Prayer Chain to deal with emergency or crisis in our church families, serving and visiting the homebound members, visiting hospitalized members daily, and administering benevolent funds to members in special need.
Prayer - Prayer is foundational to all our ministries. Several areas people get involved through prayer are: Praying Hands during worship, Intercessory for all members/guests and their needs every hour of the week, and Outreach people pray and send notes to those who visit us.
Homebound - This ministry involves opportunities for reaching out to members who are physically unable to participate in activities. All ages can be part of a diverse ministry including meal delivery, birthday emphasis program, yard and home maintenance, and simply extending a helping hand.

Worship Ministries
Hospitality Team - Our ministry consists of fellowships, receptions, New Member Committee, Sunday School greeters, ushers, and Wednesday Night Supper. As a first impression of HSBC, we want to exemplify love, kindness, and a great big smile.
Worship Planning Team - This is an essential piece of involvement in corporate worship. We train people to use music in their worship and then provide means for them to use those skills to lead in worship at services. To enhance this, we develop technical crews on audio and video equipment.
| |
Facilities Ministries
Facility Support Team - This is the "behind the scenes crew." Mowing, landscaping, and various building repair projects are just some of the things to be done around the church.
Communications & Technology - Opportunities in this ministry include help with updating our web site, articles for The Communicator (our church newsletter), and volunteers to help when needed in the church office.
| |
Outreach Ministries
iWitness - This team does the Great Commission by training disciples to share the love of Christ in ministry to members, concern for guests and the gospel to the lost.
Recreation - Fun with a purpose. Through golf and fishing tournaments, and team sports, we seek to involve those outside the church with the church family in physical activities. This helps us build relationships and foster friendships that can lead to sharing Christ.
Women On Mission - This is a program designed to educate our women and children in the importance of reaching out to a lost and dying world. Through learning about missionaries and the people they serve, they are encouraged to get involved in missions on many levels.
Missions Teams - Van Driver Volunteers and Mission Trip Volunteers make up this important ministry. Those who get involved in this area are gifted in service to others and are rewarded by seeing needs met through their work.
| |
Community Ministries
Medical - For those with medical expertise as well as laymen, the Charitable Christian Medical Clinic and area hospitals provide opportunities to meet the physical needs of those in our city.
Crisis - The Care Pregnancy Resource Center and Jackson House are two ways we seek to minister to those in desperate life situations. In the process it gives the opportunity to share "a cup of cold water" in Jesus' name with those who need to hear the gospel of Christ.
Construction - People with tool experience and "know how" can help others get a fresh start through programs like Habitat for Humanity and Spring Lake which provides opportunities in a retreat setting to create and maintain an environment of serenity for all ages.
Helping People - Samaritan's Ministries of Hot Springs and Arkansas Baptist Children's Home show the wonderful love of Jesus to many in need. We support these ministries through our church offering and volunteer programs.
| |
Specific Group Ministries
Senior Adults - Several groups make up the ministry among our senior adults. Super Seniors and Singing Seniors both meet monthly on the first Thursday and the first Wednesday respectively. The first is a luncheon with a program and the latter use their talents at local nursing homes.
Women's Ministry - The Women's Ministry is focused on reaching women with the good news and saving grace of Jesus Christ by being godly examples and ministering to the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of each woman.
Men's Ministry - This ministry offers opportunities to be a part of men's fellowships, discipleship classes, small accountability / prayer groups and community service projects.
