As we develop our mission focus for our Samaria, we look for areas with the greatest need and where we can have the greatest impact. Currently, our focus is on Alaska, Nebraska, and New Mexico.

Alaska
Alaska represents a state with great need. There are only 74 SEC churches and 23 SEC missions in all of Alaska. Many of these churches and missions are small with bi-vocational pastors. In 2007 we had a very successful trip to Alaska. We made a return trip to Alaska in 2009. This time the mission team ministered at the Laverne Griffin Youth Recreation Camp, Wasilla, AK. Jim Hale again hosted this trip. You may also learn more about the Youth Camp by visiting their website at www.lgyrc.org

Nebraska
Nebraska is another state with great need; there is only one church of any denomination for every 22,000 residents. In 2008 we took our first mission trip to Nebraska. A return trip for 2009 was under consideration but plans did not develop. We are now planning that return trip for 2010. Continue to watch this page for details as they develop. New Mexico
New Mexico is characterized as a sparsely populated area with only a few medium to large cities. Over 50% of the population is Catholic and the large Native American population practices a mixture of their native religion and Catholicism. We are targeting New Mexico for 2010. We have made initial contact with the Eagles' Wings Youth Ranch, a ministry to meet the spiritual, educational, and social needs of financially disadvantaged, at-risk youth and their families in central New Mexico.
